Following an exhibition at ISC West 2016 on April 6-8 in Las Vegas, PowerHouse Alliance distributor members will deliver their respective training schedules for April with an emphasis on home automation and control. Dealers will have access to insider tips on how to identify opportunities within the rapidly growing smart home space and will also get valuable face-time with manufacturer representatives at a variety of education sessions.
Member Electronic Custom Distributors Inc. (ECD) will start the training sessions with Clare Controls classes at all three of its Texas locations. The team will start at their Houston headquarters on April 5 with a half-day session before moving on to Austin, Texas on April 6 and Dallas on April 7. Fellow PHA member Consumer Electronics Distributors (CED) will also train dealers on Clare Controls' hub and configuration software during a basic training session on April 19 at its Northbrook, IL location.
“The smart home space is constantly evolving, which can make it difficult for dealers to stay on top of the trends and products consumers are demanding at any given time,” says Dennis Holzer, executive director of the PowerHouse Alliance. “As a group, we want our collective dealer network to understand and experience these new products through our lineup of training sessions so they can turn around and leverage this category for new business opportunities with their customer base.”
Continuing the home automation theme Powerhouse Alliance members Volutone, MRI, Sierra Select, Mountain West and ECD will all host URC-focused training sessions throughout the month. Volutone is encouraging their dealers to attend free URC live training sessions held at the Atrium Hotel in Irvine, Calif., April 5-7. Later in the month MRI will host a three-day URC Total Control Certification training series in Natick, Mass. From April 19-21, dealers from across the northeast will have the opportunity to learn the basics of Total Control and advance all the way to mastering automation and programming techniques. During those same dates, member ECD will also put on a URC Total Control training series at its Dallas, Texas location.
Sierra Select, who represents the Alliance in Northern California and Nevada will hold a URC CCP training session at its North Highlands, Calif., location on Tuesday, April 19. Wrapping up the URC trainings, Mountain West Distributors will host a URC Total Control Training day at its Denver, Colo., location on April 26 to give their dealers an introduction to the product and networking in general.
The Powerhouse Alliance adds that as the first quarter of 2016 comes to close it will continue to expand into new territories and improve their facilities for dealers. Member Davis Distribution Systems recently opened the doors to its new Indianapolis warehouse and will celebrate the opening with an all-day party April 9. Davis Distribution's local dealers are invited to join its team and factory representatives from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a pig roast, live entertainment and prizes. Volutone will also be celebrating this spring as it completes the expansion of its Irvine, Calif., location. OnApril 29 Volutone is inviting dealers to explore its new larger capacity training room, dealer conference room, expanded will call and deeper stock on in-demand products.
