This past September during CEDIA 2016, tucked away in a small display in the rear of its booth, Phase Technology demonstrated its IW-210 in-wall subwoofer with a pair of CI130 in-wall loudspeakers.
The excellent demo was a hidden gem highlight of the show, and now the company is shipping the in-wall subwoofer to dealers.
Designed and manufactured in Jacksonville, Fla., the IW-210 is a low-profile in-wall subwoofer that incorporates a 10-inch woofer and a 10-inch passive radiator that is housed in a retrofittable enclosure.
Phase Tech says the subwoofer employs its Positive Clamping Mounting System that isolates the transmission of the sub's motion to the mounting wall to help ensure accurate low-end signal frequency reproduction. Phase Tech is shipping the sub with a magnetic, no-bezel grille that is designed to help the sub unobtrusively blend into a variety of room environments.
Dealers can pair the IW-210 subwoofer with its P350 outboard amplifier to form a complete subwoofer solution. The single channel, monoblock amplifier is rated to produce 225 watts into 8 ohms, and 350 watts into 4 ohms.
The IW-210 is 87dB sensitive and Phase Tech specifies the sub's frequency response at 24Hz to 160Hz.
