The global video manufacturer Optoma has announced two new 4K, HDR-enabled projectors that are designed to produce state-of-the-art images at reasonable price points. The newly introduced UHD60 and UHD65 projectors deliver 3840×2160 resolutions or 8.3 million pixels, along with high dynamic range (HDR), HDR10 compatibility.
“With the UHD60 and UHD65, Optoma is putting the industry's most innovative and cutting edge 4K technologies into the hands of consumers in a way that's never been done before,” says Brian Soto, head of product management, Optoma. “As leaders in the 1080p resolution home projection market, the introduction of our 4K resolution projectors is the next big step in providing high-end viewing experiences at extremely accessible pricing.
“We are making 4K home theater projection a mainstream technology for the first time, allowing consumers to enjoy a projection that will rival any home entertainment or even cinema experience.”
Offering more than just Ultra HD 4K compatibility, the UHD60 and UHD65 projectors also provide Rec.2020 wide color gamut and DCI-P3 capabilities.
Standard features for both projectors include vertical lens shift, 1.6x zoom, and the ability to fill screens up to 300 inches. The UHD60 and UHD65 also provide two HDMI inputs—including one HDMI input each respectively with HDCP 2.2 compatibility.
Optoma UHD60 Specs
Carrying a price of $1,999, the UHD60 is designed for retail distribution channels.
Optoma says the UHD60 delivers these performance attributes:
- Up to 3,000 lumens of brightness
- Contrast ratio levels as high as 1,000,000:1 with dynamic black feature enabled
- The Optoma UHD60 comes with a white chassis
Optoma UHD65 Specs
The UHD65 is designed for custom installation professionals, and it carries a price of $2,499.
Optoma says the UHD65 provides these performance attributes:
- Brightness capabilities up to 2,200 lumens
- Contrast levels up to 1,200,000:1 with dynamic black level enabled
- The Optoma UHD65 comes with a black chassis
