Nortek Control has announced a complete, integrated set of System Controllers for home control solutions from its Elan automation brand.
Driven by the new Elan 8.6 Software, products help integrators cover every smart home automation integration scenario — from a single room media system to a luxury estate or commercial venue with multiple buildings.
Plus, now Elan systems are more flexible than ever with the addition of Z-Wave to control compatible devices, Nortek Control says.
The newly updated 8.6 Software brings native Z-Wave Plus support to all Elan EL-SC System Controllers, including the new flagship EL-SC-300-ZW and EL-SC-100-ZW models. Easy discovery and installation of all Z-Wave devices can be done via the Elan Viewer app on mobile devices.

Enhancements of version 8.6 include Alexa International capability, Lutron QSX integration and more. Auto-generated lighting and shades pages can be grouped with ease, for instance, the company notes, and a new viewer-based scene editor allows for users to customize scenes.
In addition to lighting enhancements, the Elan 8.6 Software enables mobile export of surveillance video clips from Elan NVR on iOS and Android smart devices, Nortek Control says.
New Elan System Controllers, Extender, Bundle
The new family of hardware solutions is IP-enabled for integration and can expand via external I/O options and software licenses. Elan, which has been focusing on IP-addressable audio lately as part of Nortek Control’s 2021 initiatives, says the flagship EL-SC-300-ZW System Controller suits large to massive projects with every control option imaginable – users can control media, lighting, climate, pool/spa, irrigation, doorbell cameras, security and more through a single app interface.
Elan includes a Z-Wave transceiver to enable control of compatible Z-Wave devices in addition to the Elan devices and third-party products already supported.
For smaller-to-moderate installations the EL-SC-100-ZW provides a single point of control and automation for media, climate, lighting, security, surveillance and more, the company says. It also integrates a Z-Wave transceiver.
Meanwhile, a new Elan EL-IO-200 IO Extender facilitates control to additional media and smart-home devices not placed near the main controller. Paired with an EL-SC-100-ZW, EL-SC-300-ZW, or a gSC Series Controller, the compact device can enable system expansion and future proofing.
Also, the new EL-SC-200-ZW bundles the EL-SC-100-ZW System Controller with the EL-IO-200 Control Extender and ties things together with an EL-SW-100-PRO license to seamlessly provide control and automation for all popular categories.
