Bluesound has announced the launch of a newly updated POWERNODE model, a product that the company says is meant to serve as its next-generation wireless music streaming amp. According to Bluesound, the new POWERNODE builds on the legacy of the original by offering the same high-resolution audio performance while improving upon its integration into AV setups.

“The POWERNODE has always stood at the intersection of performance and simplicity,” says Morten Nielsen, associate product manager, Bluesound. “This evolution expands its capabilities while staying true to our vision of delivering HiFi quality sound without compromise.”

The new POWERNODE offers a direct upgrade to its predecessor with 100 watts per channel of proprietary DirectDigital amplification for more power and lower distortion sound, with the company stating that the device is “designed for people who want a streamlined home audio package that includes a way to stream music and enjoy TV without the clutter and confusion of multiple boxes, remotes, or wires.”

The new amplifier also provides support for HDMI eARC and the ability to add a center channel speaker alongside left and right front channels. Through the POWERNODE’s wireless surround capabilities, integrators can add Bluesound PULSE wireless speakers and a PULSE SUB+ to build a full 5.1 surround system.

“With the new POWERNODE, we’re not just delivering hi-res audio,” comments Matt Simmonds, product manager, Bluesound. “We’re delivering a new way to experience music and home entertainment — one that’s powerful, flexible, and designed around how people actually live.”

Serving as the foundation of the new POWERNODE is an updated circuit design with signal path improvements, Bluesound’s latest DirectDigital amplification and gallium nitride (GaN) transistor technology, that together are specified to deliver 100-watts-per-channel in stereo mode and 80-watts-per-channel in a 3.1 system configuration.

The company also emphasizes that like other Bluesound products, the POWERNODE incorporates its parent company’s, Lenbrook‘s BluOS wireless whole-house audio platform. BluOS supports more than 20 streaming services including TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer, and BluOS provides access to high-resolution 24-bit/192kHz, MQA, and DSD256 content.

Once installed within a home users can stream their personal libraries, listen to internet radio, or sync music across multiple rooms using other BluOS-enabled products. Bluesound adds the BluOS Controller app, available on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows, offers a seamless way to browse, control, and play music from anywhere in the home to support a range of home entertainment activities.

The new POWERNODE will reportedly be shipping September 10, 2025 and carry a price tag of roughly $1,199 MSRP. Pre-orders for those looking to get their hands on a product early will start August 12.
