What makes an integration company good enough to be recognized as the Consumer Technology Association's TechHome Mark of Excellence Integrator of the Year? Taking chances.

Gerry Lynch, president of System 7 in Boston, says taking risks in his business has made the difference. The company grew nearly 30 percent in 2015 and already has 75 percent of its 2015 revenues booked for 2016. You can read all about System 7's business model here, including its “job pyramid” that shows how the company determines the right mix of six-figure jobs to keep the staff on the cutting edge along with smaller jobs to maintain cash flow.

Following the acceptance of his award at CES 2016, Lynch spoke briefly with CE Pro about the recognition.
