As old consumer audio formats continue to bounce back in popularity, Pro-Ject is responding to today's trends through the introduction of its affordable T1 turntable.
The Pro-Ject T1 turntable is available from the company's American distributor Sumiko Audio, and according to Pro-Ject, it is the first T-Line turntable to deliver high levels of audio quality at a budget price point.
The new T1 turntable features a CNC-machined plinth that omits the use of plastic parts.
Built with no hollow spaces in the plinth, which can resonate, the turntable carries similar design concepts to its heavy glass dust cover, which also employs a “zero-resonance” design, along with feet that are engineered to minimize the negative effects of vibrations.
Other engineering elements the T1 turntable employs include a belt-drive motor system mounted to a sub-platter that incorporates an ultra-precise 0.001mm main bearing.
The main bearing utilizes a hardened steel axle and brass bushing just like Pro-Ject's more expensive Essential III line of turntables.
Also helping to reduce noise that can hamper vinyl reproduction, the T1 turntable employs an anti-resonant rotational platform for the tonearm and phono cartridge to ride across during vinyl playback. Pro-Ject specifically designed a new solution for the T1's tonearm based on some of its existing tonearm products.

The 8.6-inch aluminum tonearm also incorporates a low-friction bearing to help ensure its accuracy and long-term durability.
In addition to offering the base level T1 turntable, Pro-Ject offers the T1 BT model that features wireless Bluetooth streaming and a phono stage to allow homeowners to wirelessly listen to their favorite records.
Moreover, The Phono SB version of the turntable incorporates a built-in moving magnet (MM) phono stage to provide integrators with an affordable, plug-and-play turntable option.
