While at ISE 2026, ADI showcased the full breadth of its intelligent automation ecosystem with a special preview of the company’s upcoming T5 touchscreens as well as the Control4 Connect subscription model.
Integrator Takeaways
In recent years a particular emphasis has been placed on the control aspect of home automation, with interfaces and associated devices receiving the bulk of the improvements compared to other areas of the home.
Though no direct correlation has been drawn, this greater emphasis on improving and refining interface devices ties in with the ongoing trend of homeowners demanding simpler, more intuitive ways to interact with their home automation systems.
AI has also amplified expectations of more intuitive, proactive interface models, either through the exultations of forward-thinking futurists or through the promises being made by companies themselves regarding their own AI models.
What’s New in the Upcoming T5 Touchscreens
Integrators already have their choice of 8-inch and 11-inch in-wall touchscreen from the T5 line, but what makes the incoming models unique are the features that are being added according to ADI.
Firstly, new magnetic trims are being designed to complement the company’s existing Lux control line for luxury lighting. Additionally, the new features being added include proximity sensing, dynamic screen savers and a Dark Mode designed to make the interfaces a little easier on the eyes.
No word on whether those proximity sensors are just for waking up the pads or if they’ll be able to tie into any proximity-based automations on Control4.
Global Launch of X4 and Control4 Connect
ISE 2026 also marks the global launch of X4, which has been available to U.S. customers as of June, 2025.
International integrators can now get access to the system’s modernized interface, as well as redesigned home screen and interchangeable widgets that allow system installers and homeowners alike to more easily create a custom experience.
This global release is also being paired with an entirely new, optional subscription model for all Control4 customers that’s being called Control4 Connect. While the general gist of Connect is stated to enhance “the X4 experience with premium features while supporting long-term system performance and continuous innovation,” one of the biggest values of Connect is through its continual updates model meant to grow the X4 platform.
The Connect subscription also adds remote access solutions as well as notifications that can be delivered via devices such as Apple watches. The value with most of the features is aimed at the homeowner the most, with Connect serving as that optional subscription for them to get even more out of their control platform and falls in line with Snap’s focus of driving value for integrators by offering options for subscription-based service models prior to its acquisition by Resideo and subsequent spinoff with ADI.
Where to Catch a Sneak Preview of the Upcoming T5 and Control4 Connect Features
While no official release date has been given for the upcoming T5 touchscreens, attendees at ISE 2026 can catch glimpses of the new features at ADI’s stand (2J150) at the show.
Additionally, ADI is hosting a series of hands-on training sessions at their booth during the show, meaning visitors can potentially get a chance to work with the new product as well.
