Adding to its selection of Masters Series amplifiers, home theater processors and DACs, NAD has announced its new Masters Series M10 streaming device at CES 2019.
NAD says that its latest Masters Series product can serve as the heart of a whole-house audio system, as well as the centerpiece to a modern stereo system through its inclusion of built-in amplification.
“The Masters M10 is a percent example of an audiophile component that is luxurious and smart yet at the same time, discreet,” says Greg Stidsen, chief technology officer, NAD.
“It can effectively perform the same function that required a rack full of components just a few years ago and in many ways, [it] is superior. Though the elegant form factor of the M10 takes up very little space and could be hidden away, but with its attractive design and striking display, why would you want to?”
NAD Incorporates BluOS and Dirac Live
The BluOS operating system serves as the foundation for the M10's wired and wireless whole-house audio capabilities. Integrators can combine the M10 with other BluOS enabled products to create whole-house audio systems capable of streaming content from TuneIn, Spotify, TIDAL, Deezer, Napster, Qobuz, Amazon and other services.
Additionally, it can pull local digital music files, including high-resolution MQA-encoded files.
Another important option built into the M10 is Dirac Live Room Correction. Using the Dirac software integrators can fine tune the performance of the M10 by correcting parameters such as frequency response and time domain impulse response to help the product produce a more tonally accurate listening experience.
Internally, the M10's HybridDigital nCore amplification capabilities are rated to deliver 100 watts of power into 4 ohms and 8 ohms, and it offers dynamic power capabilities of 160 watts into 8 ohms and 300 watts into 4 ohms.

NAD commissioned the design firm DF-ID to develop the integrated streaming amp's appearance. DF-ID principal David Farrage's industrial design employs glass panels and extruded aluminum to help create the contemporary look of the M10, helping it blend into a range of interior spaces.
Other options built into the M10 include Apple AirPlay2 integration, a Gigabit Ethernet connection, HDMI eARC, a USB Type A input, stereo line-level inputs, as well as coax and optical digital inputs, a preamp output, a subwoofer output, an IR input and a 12-volt trigger out.
In addition, NAD offers a companion app that is available on the Android and iOS platforms, and it supports third-party control integration with Control4, Crestron, RTI, URC, Elan, and Lutron.
