Chamberlain Group is broadening its myQ smart home ecosystem with the introduction of two new security devices: the myQ Smart Outdoor Camera and the company’s first ever myQ Video Doorbell. These additions aim to enhance home security by extending surveillance capabilities beyond the garage and providing more control over access points to the home.
The myQ Smart Outdoor Camera is designed to monitor areas outside the garage, featuring 2K video recording, a 360-degree adjustable lens and color night vision, ensuring clear footage in various lighting conditions. The camera also includes a motion-activated LED to notify intruders of recording, as well as a built-in spotlight. It also features AI-powered smart detection on objects such as vehicles and animals.
The myQ Video Doorbell, meanwhile, is designed to be paired with the company’s existing Smart Garage Video Keypad. It offers a 150-degree wide-angle lens and a camera that records in the same 2K video quality as the camera. When wired into the home, it also works with any existing doorbell chime, though a wireless myQ chime is planned in the future.
Both devices come with wired or wireless installation options out the gate, however, as well as multiple mounting options.
When paired with the myQ ecosystem, these two products also receive a bit of extra functionality with both the outdoor camera and the video doorbell reacting to certain situations through functions such as automatically locking doors or closing the garage based on what it sees.
