HYPERSUB Introduces Frontier F-15 Subwoofer System for Space-Constrained Home Theaters

Published: January 26, 2026

HYPERSUB has expanded its residential audio portfolio with the introduction of the Frontier F-15, a slim, sealed-box subwoofer system designed for small- to medium-sized home theater environments where placement flexibility and predictable low-frequency performance are priorities.

The Frontier F-15 system consists of four sealed subwoofer cabinets paired with HYPERSUB’s 422D DSP-controlled rack amplifier. According to the company, the system is engineered to deliver controlled bass extension down to 25 Hz while maintaining headroom suitable for reference-level playback in real-world rooms.

Each F-15 cabinet houses a custom 15-inch driver featuring a neodymium motor and more than three inches of excursion, housed in a sealed enclosure measuring just under 13 inches deep. The shallow cabinet depth is intended to support behind-screen installations and other space-restricted layouts common in dedicated theaters. Cabinets are constructed from void-free birch plywood with hardwood corners and finished in black-oak veneer.

Performance specifications for the system include a frequency response of 25–200 Hz (-6 dB relative to 100 Hz), a maximum linear SPL rating of 118 dB measured to AES75-2022 standards, and a broadband peak SPL of 124 dB measured to ANSI/CTA-2020B methodology.

Powering the system is the HYPERSUB 422D amplifier, which provides four channels of amplification rated at 2,200 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms. Each cabinet is driven by a dedicated amplifier channel, with onboard DSP offering parametric equalization, filtering, delay, polarity control, and limiting. Balanced XLR inputs and speakON outputs support rack-based integration workflows.

HYPERSUB says the F-15 system is specified to align with CEDIA/CTA RP-22 performance targets and is designed to integrate with room optimization platforms such as Dirac ART and Trinnov WaveForming to improve seat-to-seat bass consistency.

The Frontier F-15 system is available now and carries a five-year warranty. For larger rooms, the company notes that the system can be expanded using its higher-output F-24 DUO subwoofers.
