The Swedish digital audio company Dirac has announced that its Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) solution will be made available in select Denon and Marantz products that currently support Dirac Live Bass Control beginning in the second half of 2025.
Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART) was first introduced in 2023, and the company says the solution is a professional-grade smart acoustics tool designed for professional integrators and audio enthusiasts. The company states that as a powerful enhancement to the Dirac Live platform, Dirac Live ART transforms a room’s existing speakers into a unified system that intelligently manages room resonances and dramatically improves bass clarity.
“Dirac Live ART represents the next frontier in smart acoustics, delivering a level of acoustic precision that was once out of reach for most home audio systems,” says Fredric Tapper, vice president and head of business development, Dirac. “By bringing Dirac Live ART to Denon and Marantz devices, we’re expanding access to our most advanced smart acoustic solution yet – empowering more users to transform their listening rooms into finely tuned sound environments, regardless of layout or speaker placement.”
According to the European technology company, the Dirac Live ART solution represents a major evolution in low-frequency control, using Dirac’s patented MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) technology to coordinate all the speakers within a system. Even in asymmetrical or unconventional setups, the new Dirac solution is said to effectively manage room resonances in the critical 20 to 150 Hz range, which Dirac asserts results in a smoother, more consistent bass experience across all listening positions.
Dirac adds this listening experience is achieved through precise phase alignment and intelligent control of the sound field, offering performance that would otherwise require extensive physical room treatment.
