Blackwire Announces Ring Events Driver

Published: March 24, 2021

Blackwire, has introduced the Ring Events Driver for Elan home automation systems.

The newly announced product is an addition to the company’s existing drivers for Control4 and URC systems. With this driver, integrators will be able to use push-button and motion events from Ring devices and integrate them into their Elan projects. This direct, official integration with Ring allows the driver to be significantly faster than other solutions that may rely on third-party services and is more reliable than doorbell sensing hardware which can be overly sensitive to power fluctuations.

โ€œWe worked directly with Ring to build a solution that we would be able to extend into otherย platforms in the industry,โ€ says owner Kevin Luthur.

โ€œWeโ€™re very excited to offer ourย driver for Elan Systems in addition to our other integrations with Control4 and URC, and weโ€™re proud to be the exclusive solution for this industry. We plan on rolling out more integration in the nearย future.โ€

When someone pushes the doorbell button, the Elan system instantly receives an event from Ring to execute any number of home automation routines. Dealers can also program additional actions, such as lighting scenes or audio announcements, based on motion events received from Ring doorbells and cameras.

The Ring Events Driver is available to professional integrators from the Blackwire website.
