These models provide a choice of four sizes ranging from 65 inches to 85 inches. The 4K models are available via a choice of four series: The Q90T, the Q80T, the Q70T and Q60T. Samsung says the 4K models provide a choice of eight sizes ranging from 43 to 85 inches.
Making its products more appealing to lifestyle consumers, Samsung emphasizes the Q950TS is its first product to incorporate surround sound in a slim form factor.
Further supporting the lifestyle aspirations of modern consumers, Samsung points out the Q950TS just about eliminates the TV’s bezel, and its Infinity Screen offers a screen-to-body ratio of almost 99%. According to Samsung, the result is that when someone is watching the TV from an average viewing distance of 10 to 15 feet the bezel seems to disappear to create a look in which the TV appears to float in the air.
The 8K models offer the company’s 8K Direct Full Array that adds local power distribution to improve the products’ local zone dimming. The 8K Direct Full Array technology is said to produce images that are up to 20% brighter. When combined with Quantum HDR, Samsung says the televisions produce brighter whites and deeper blacks with all HDR content.
Using its processing capabilities to help to drive the adoption of 8K, Samsung states that it has developed AI capabilities that automatically upscales non-8K content to 8K resolutions.
The company’s AI Quantum Processor also utilizes Samsung’s Adaptive Picture technology that employs a sensor that adjusts image quality based on the ambient light in the room.
Highlighting its TVs’ audio options, the 2020 Samsung QLED product line features Object Tracking Sound (OTS) and OTS+, which respectively deliver “a sound experience perfectly aligned with the picture.”
When OTS and OTS+ are combined with its Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Samsung says the TVs provide real-time noise intelligence by detecting ambient noise and automatically “enhancing” voice clarity.
Samsung TVs Integrate into Smart Homes
Other options packed into the 2020 line of products, Samsung says the TVs include its Samsung TV Plus free Smart TV video service. The free service provide a range of content from a variety of genres.
The TVs are also designed to support gaming applications through its Real Game Enhancer+ technology that offers multiple variable refresh rates to deliver smooth images during gaming activities.
In addition, the 2020 Samsung QLED line of products can serve as a virtual hub in a modern smart home via the company’s SmartThings Dashboard.
Samsung explains that SmartThings offers homeowners a comprehensive IoT (Internet of Things) ecosystem that is capable of connecting to and controlling devices located throughout a home.
