The Dublin, Calif.-based company Amber Solutions has introduced its AC/DC Enabler and Amber AC Switch.
According to the company, its new products facilitate the solid-state, digital control of the electricity powering any electrical device in a building or residence.
Amber Solutions states the AC/DC Enabler is a UL-certified solid-state digital power management circuit breaker that supports property owners’ ability to control everything from smart products, to security, control, lighting and appliances.
The retrofittable solution works with the company’s product line that includes the AC Switch, as well as its Amber Smart Outlet and Amber Smart GFCI.
Amber Solutions explains that through its Digital Power Management and Control System (DPMC), which is a small solid-state device, the system with its micro-controllers, processors and RF devices connects directly to the AC main.
The system is said to replace bulky electromechanical devices, including capacitors and magnetics that limit the control of electrical products by a component factor of 2.5.
Amber Solutions adds once it replaces these outdated technologies, it streamlines a building’s electrical products by placing everything on a single silicon chip.
