SLING TV Integrates Live Local Channels on LG TVs
LG Smart TVs just got smarter. SLING TV has made it easier than ever to watch local channels on LG Smart TVs, without ever leaving the SLING TV app. Consumers with a 2020 LG Smart TV, including the GX Gallery series, OLED ZX Real 8K, and 4K Ultra HD TVs, can now connect their OTA antenna directly to their LG TV and complete a simple, one-time scanning process to access live local channels alongside their SLING TV programming.
This new OTA channel integration brings those free local channels directly into the SLING TV guide, making it simple for consumers to switch between watching the local news and their favorite channels from SLING TV. Once enabled, it’s easy to access local networks like ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and PBS, directly from the SLING TV channel, grid, and mini guides. To find out which live locals are available in any location across the U.S., you can use SLING TV’s local channel finder tool. Simply type in a street name and zip code to view a comprehensive list of available channels in any given area.
To integrate local channels into the SLING TV experience, owners of the above listed LG Smart TVs will need to complete a one-time channel scanning process, accessible from the TV’s Settings tab. Then, select All Settings, click Channels, then Channel Tuning, and finally Auto Tuning to begin the automatic scanning process. Once SLING TV receives the OTA channel signals, customers will see a confirmation message when they reopen the SLING TV app. They can also add local channels to My Channels for easy viewing access on their LG Smart TV.
Stream Live TV with Sling on Apple TV!
Consumers can now stream SLING TVand free OTA locals through their Apple TV with tvOS 11 and higher! SLING TV Subscribers with an Apple TV can easily download the free SLING TV App in the Apple TV UI and seamlessly stream SLING TV from anywhere without the need for additional hardware. Those with an AirTV 2 with an OTA setup can incorporate free local channels into their streaming experience.
