URC, a global developer of smart residential and commercial automation, and SKYWORTH, a global manufacturer of advanced display technologies, have announced a new integration that enables seamless control of SKYWORTH Lifestyle TVs including the Clarus Outdoor TV , Canvas Art TV and Canvas Elite TV lines into the URC Total Control platform.
The integration, the companies state, allows custom integrators, homeowners and other users to unify entertainment with automated URC systems to deliver a simple, reliable, and intuitive user experience.
“Adding SKYWORTH to the URC ecosystem expands the options for integrators and end-users who want high-quality TVs fully unified within their automation systems,” says Lars Granoe, VP of product development at URC. “Our Total Control platform continues to evolve by integrating with leading global brands, offering choice, flexibility, and reliability.”
URC Total Control System Seamlessly Controls SKYWORTH Smart TVs
URC explains the new module provides one-way IP control of supported SKYWORTH TVs built on the Google TV platform. Through the use of the Total Control platform, homeowners can power on devices reliably via Wake-on-LAN commands, manage key TV functions, and launch built-in apps directly from Total Control interfaces. The integration supports both wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections, though hardwired networking is recommended for maximum reliability.
Dealers can configure SKYWORTH TVs within new or existing Total Control projects by importing the module from URC’s Accelerator software. Once installed, the integration enables users to control SKYWORTH TVs through URC remotes, in-wall touch screens, tabletop controllers, and mobile apps. Advanced features include discrete two-way commands for adjusting audio levels, picture settings (brightness, contrast, backlight, sharpness), sound modes, and channel inputs, ensuring fine-tuned control for any environment.
URC emphasizes the SKYWORTH integration provides several advantages for dealers and end-users that include:
- Enhanced Functionality: Users can access built-in apps and use discrete two-way commands for volume, picture modes, and channel control.
- Unified Entertainment Control: Homeowners can operate SKYWORTH TVs alongside audio, lighting, climate, and security systems from a single URC interface.
- Reliable Operation: The Total Control integration provides easy access to items such as power-on commands and functions like Wake-on-LAN to ensure TVs respond consistently, whether in standby or fully off states.
- Flexible Deployment: The integration supports both Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity with permanent IP addressing for stability.
- Dealer Efficiency: Module integration simplifies setup, programming, and deployment in Total Control systems.
“This partnership with URC demonstrates SKYWORTH’s commitment to the custom integration market,” adds Michael Gleason, director of sales at SKYWORTH USA. “By ensuring our Lifestyle Series TVs integrate seamlessly with URC’s Total Control platform, we’re empowering integrators with the tools they need to deliver exceptional experiences to their clients.”
