Screen Innovations (SI), a popular manufacturer of projection screens, window coverings, outdoor shading and screen solutions for both commercial and residential markets, has announced the expansion and rebranding of its U.S. Shade Manufacturing operations in Austin, Texas. Now operating under the name Shade Innovations, it marks a milestone in SI’s growth and identity.
The rebrand includes the launch of SI’s proprietary motor and control technologies, enhanced automation and production capabilities and the introduction of The SI Way—a comprehensive initiative designed to make Shade Innovations the easiest, most reliable, and most trusted partner for dealers and customers alike.
“Our timing to rebrand, retool, and launch the new SI motor was perfect,” says Ryan Gustafson, founder of Screen Innovations and Shade Innovations.
“By producing affordably and offering a broad range of shade products equipped with SI’s advanced motor technology—paired with faster turnaround times, The SI Way program, and ongoing live training sessions—we’re ensuring our dealers’ businesses thrive.”
Shade Innovations Rebranding Sharpens Product Focus
SI asserts that by renaming its shade and window coverings division to Shade Innovations, it is enhancing the product line’s focus on window covering solutions. While Screen Innovations remains dedicated to projection screens, Shade Innovations represents the company’s shading and window covering services.
Existing Screen Innovations dealers can continue purchasing shades under the Screen Innovations brand just as they always have.
As for the new motors, SI states the components have been redesigned from the ground up, with the motorized shades now offering a full range of advanced motor and control technologies that the company says deliver higher levels of performance and build quality that dealers expect.
The new motor lineup features RF, Zigbee/RF, and RF/PoE options, but moreover, all SI motors—including those running PoE—are going to be bilingual motors with RF integrated into the motor head, enabling installers to quickly commission shades at the window while maintaining seamless control via external wireless remotes.
SI has also expanded its manufacturing by automating and retooling its production line in Austin, Texas. The addition of a state-of-the-art cut table with 30-foot seamless glass automatically cauterizes all fabrics for better edge quality while doubling output capacity.
Additional Launches, Initiatives Planned to Add Value for Integrators
As a follow up to the announcement, SI announced it will soon launch its Niño 2 line of window coverings—including the SI Roller, Duo Roller, Roman shades, Woven Woods, Cellular, and Zebra products—all powered by SI motors and priced at half the cost of the competition.
Further backing the rebranding, Shade Innovations will introduce the SI Way program and guide—a comprehensive resource for selling window treatments and screens. The program offers Guaranteed Replacement, 50% off on mismeasures and cutdowns, coverage for shipping damage, SI motor and fabric warranties, and more. Additionally, dealers can benefit from live online training sessions to stay up to date and maximize success as part of the program.
Additionally, in-house design services have also expanded to meet growing dealer demand, with SI onboarding 30–40 new dealers each month, and these services are designed to help new dealers quickly learn the shade business and avoid costly pitfalls common when working with other shade companies.
“We couldn’t be happier or more perfectly timed to expand our shade production in the U.S.,” adds Kim Parker, president of SI.
“The SI outdoor shade and screen business has grown rapidly with industry-leading products like KAOS. Bringing more control and production in-house at our Austin, Texas facility is a home run—plus, it reduces concerns around tariffs.”
