Nothing influences the human experience more than music, and today’s customers want a seamless, versatile listening experience. That means unchaining popular music streaming services from the internet and device apps, and enabling the flexibility to listen anywhere in the home. To meet this demand, RTI has created a portfolio of powerful solutions that seamlessly integrate with today’s streaming music players and other audio devices, distributing audio from any source throughout a residence with outstanding fidelity. Combining these components with the RTI control system creates a completely centralized, cohesive system that puts users in full control of more than just the music.
Driving Control
This seamless experience starts with RTI’s two-way drivers. Built for today’s popular home audio systems, RTI’s ever-growing library of drivers support a wide range of third-party audio systems, including Denon® HEOS™, Nuvo®, Sonos®, and more. Additional support is available via drivers developed by integration partner manufacturers including Autonomic, CasaTunes®, and Fusion Research. By leveraging this extensive list of pre-written and tested two-way drivers with RTI’s award-winning Integration Designer® programming software, integrators can provide end users with full control and simple interaction with their chosen audio sources.
Seamless Whole-Home Audio Distribution
To further drive the music experience, RTI has created audio distribution systems that allow the user to listen to any source in any room. They can listen to Spotify in the kitchen, talk radio in the office, the media library in another, and any combination in between with ease. The RTI AD-4x/AD-8x audio distribution systems provide the audio switching, amplification, and distribution functions, while RTI central processors and user interfaces manage the audio source control, user input, and status feedback. This allows a handheld controller, wall-mounted touchpanel, or smart device to activate music anywhere in a home. Because RTI distributed audio solutions are designed to be an extension of an RTI control system, these same user interfaces can be custom programmed to also command other systems in the home or office, from video and lighting to security and HVAC.
Accessories are also available to further expand the capabilities of the AD-4x/AD-8x audio distribution systems. For instance, in larger installations with zone expansion and volume requirements, the RTI CP-450 and CP-1650 amplifiers utilize Cool Power® technology to provide extra power and speaker outputs wherever they are needed. For audio sources such as a PC or iPod dock that is located remotely, an RSP1 wall module provides a convenient input for sources located away from the equipment rack. In addition, the PDM1 module provides an input from devices such as a doorbell or phone system, which will temporarily mute the audio system so that the end user can be notified of a visitor or phone call.
Convenient Solutions for Every Wall
Simplicity is the key to customer satisfaction, which is where the always-on, one-touch convenience of an in-wall touchpanel comes in. RTI’s series of in-wall touchpanels provide integrators with a full lineup of solutions to address the unique needs of every project. For instance, the KX10 — the newest member of the RTI KX Series — features a large, fully customizable 10.1-inch 1280×800 WXGA resolution touchscreen LCD with ample screen real estate to create the ultimate user interface. At the other end of the line are the cost-efficient all-button RK-1+ and RKM-1+ multi-zone audio keypads, which can be customized using the RTI Laser Shark engraving service for unique personalization. For situations where moisture might be an issue, such as bathrooms or pool areas, the WK2 in-wall keypad has an all-glass exterior for convenient control with wet fingers.
Engineering for the Future
As the audio experience continues to evolve and encapsulate other functions, RTI is committed to providing solutions with amazing flexibility and intelligent control through open-platform engineering designed to embrace these trends. To that end, RTI encourages third-party driver development resulting in the creation of integration with popular devices including the Apple TV® and even the Amazon Alexa, allowing convenient voice control via the RTI control system.
