Ring, maker of smart doorbells and video cameras, has been awarded a design patent (#D797,856) for its illuminated security yard sign to ward off trespassers at night.
It might sound trivial, but I happen to have one, and it's pretty slick.
The sign, powered by a solar panel, seems to be quite effective. I haven't been robbed yet.
The patent application was filed in May 2016 and issued in September 2017 to Bot Home Automation, of which Ring is a dba.
