Dealers say Sony wowed at CEDIA 2016, especially with its Z-Series (Z9D) displays and X1000ES Ultra Blu-ray player.
The Z9D 100-inch display offers “unprecedented brightness and black levels that are approaching OLED,” according to Philip Jones, product information manager at Sony Electronics. “Z9D has the biggest video processor of any TV that has ever been made. Literally everything you watch looks like it's in HDR.”
“Sony Z9D was outstanding,” says integrator Mike Bruemmer of Mt. Lookout Television and Electronics. “Much better brightness than the OLED. We looked at the Z9 and ran to go look at the G6 [LG OLED]. Z9 is better.”
Sony's X1000ES Ultra Blu-ray player made Bob Archer's list of top product picks from CEDIA. It offers HDR compatibility as well as streaming services such as Amazon and YouTube as well as Dolby Atmos compatibility.
