Published: August 18, 2022

DMF Lighting, a leader in modular downlighting in the custom home integration channel, announced the company’s sponsorship of the Kansas City Professional Women in Building Council‘s August 25 Bottle & Barrel Bash Annual Fundraiser to support education, event programming, and scholarships.

The James Bond-themed event will be held at Fiorella’s Kansas City and will feature live music, signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, raffle prizes, and a silent auction. The event will host 300-350 members and guests of the Home Builders Association this year.

The Professional Women in Building Council of the Kansas City Home Builders Association started two years ago and has 105 members. The co-chair of the council, Sara Jo De La Isla, a lighting designer at recently rebranded integration firm Denizen, will become chair in 2023.

The Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council advocates for, supports, and inspires women in the building industry by providing opportunities for both professional and personal development as well as engagement of its members.

The group works toward accomplishing its mission by:

  • Acknowledging women and their achievements in the building industry
  • Providing resources and training opportunities to help women achieve financial independence
  • Educating the public on the value of women working in the building industry
  • Building coalitions to strengthen the voice of women within the industry

“The James Bond-themed Bottle & Barrel Bash Annual Fundraiser seeks to raise awareness of opportunities for women to enjoy a wide range of roles in the building industry,” says Chris Carboni, central sales manager, Residential Systems at DMF Lighting. “We are delighted to sponsor this important initiative on behalf of our partners at Denizen.”

DMF Lighting is a brand that truly supports our mission and is one of our most valued solutions in the market today,” adds De La Isla. “We really appreciate their support to promote the inclusion of women in our industry and encourage young women to embrace the possibilities for their future careers.”
