DeWalt is one of the most popular tool manufacturers in the trade industries. Growing its choice of cordless, battery-powered solutions, the Towson, Md.-based company has announced its FLEXVOLT series of products.

The Mid-Atlantic manufacturer says that when tradesmen use its 20V MAX tools with the FLEXVOLT system they can get up to four times the battery life, and it says FLEXVOLT provides three times the power of its 18V NiCd.

Offering a choice of six products that include the 60V MAX 71/4-inch Circular Saw (DCS575), the 60V MAX VSR Stud and Joist Drill (DCD460), the 60V MAX 81/4-inch Table Saw (DCS7485), the 60V MAX 4.5-inch to 6-inch Grinder (DCG414) and the 120V MAX AC/DC 12-inch Miter Saws (DHS790 and DHS716), the line offers a choice of tools.

Highlighting one of the tools that custom installation professionals are likely to use from the FLEXVOLT series is the 60V MAX Reciprocating Saw (DCS388). DeWalt explains the 60V MAX Reciprocating saw is designed to handle a wide variety of jobs. Some of the tasks that can be performed include cutting pipe, lumber, threaded rod, PVC duct, sheet rock and more.

The DCS388 incorporates a brushless motor that produces three times the power of its DCS385 18V product, and its 1 1/8-inch stroke length and 0-3,000 SPM enable users to experience fast and efficient cutting.

Other features of the DCS388 Reciprocating Saw include a pivoting shoe that provides leverage for a number of applications, as well as an LED light that illuminates dark spaces; a keyless blade clamp, and a variable speed trigger that controls the saw's speed.

The saw also features a rubber molding for a comfortable grip, and it weighs under eight pounds that allows users to easily handle the saw on job sites.
