Brilliant NextGen Inc. has announced the launch of its next-generation Power over Ethernet (PoE) smart home control panel, introducing a purpose-built platform designed exclusively for professional installers and technology integrators.

Behind Brilliant’s Move to PoE for Its Latest Control Panel

According to Brilliant, the move to PoE represents a strategic shift toward more scalable, future-ready smart home infrastructure.

Based on Brilliant’s second-generation architecture, the company says the new PoE system prioritizes simplified installation, enterprise-grade reliability and expanded integrations, ideally making it easier to deploy across scaling projects.

“By leveraging PoE, we’re not only simplifying deployments but also expanding the value proposition of smart home infrastructure,” said Lisa Petrucci, CEO of Brilliant.

“This launch represents our continued commitment to empowering professionals with technology designed specifically for how they build and scale projects.”

PoE vs. Non-PoE

One of the most significant advantages of Brilliant’s new PoE control platform, the company says, is installation flexibility. Because the panel does not require a licensed electrician, integrators are theoretically able to reduce labor costs and deployment timelines.

Additionally, unlike traditional smart switches that are restricted to existing gang box locations, the Brilliant PoE panel can be mounted at optimal eye level or preferred design locations, improving both usability and visual consistency across projects.

“The ability to install Brilliant PoE control panels without being limited to existing switch locations makes it simple to design a consistent, premium experience across hundreds of units,” said Bill Meyers, Managing Partner at SKBM.

“Combined with remote monitoring and support, we can deliver modern smart home living at scale while keeping installation time and costs under control.”

Additional Takeaways for Integrators

Brilliant’s new PoE smart home controls are available exclusively to professional integrators and will be sold in five-unit packs through Brilliant’s authorized partner network.

The platform is also engineered to serve as a direct replacement for legacy PoE control systems, offering a straightforward upgrade and migration path for existing installations.

CEDIA Expo Debut and Availability

The Brilliant PoE smart home control platform will debut at CEDIA Expo/Commercial Integrator Expo (CIX), taking place September 3–6, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. The system will be available to Brilliant authorized partners in North America beginning in Q4 2025.
