Leviton has announced the launch of four new Lever Edge (formerly Decora Edge) devices: A 15A Tamper-Resistant GFCI, a 15A Weather/Tamper-Resistant GFCI, a Dimmer, and a 20A Tamper-Resistant Duplex Outlet.
What’s New in the Lineup
According to the company, the new GFCIs, Dimmer and 20A Outlet more than double the current residential Lever Edge offerings—which won a Home Depot Innovation Award in 2023 and are in high-demand among professional contractor customers.
According to Leviton, Lever Edge devices offer the classic appearance and performance of its electrical solutions in a new, easier-to-install and safer design. Leviton states the products’ lever edge patented design has a snap feature with an audible “click” so installers can be confident with every termination.
The devices also feature patented color-coded levers which allow for quick and safe installation by helping to efficiently identify the correct terminal for wiring, including a lever terminal for the ground wire. The Lever Edge GFCI models have a clearly identifiable blue lever terminal for the load wire to help avoid line/load reversal when wiring.
“As the leader in GFCI technology, we value the importance of taking this new step forward by combining the latest safety features of Leviton GFCI technology with our easy-to-install Lever Edge design,” says Stacy Genovese, product manager, safety receptacles, residential business unit at Leviton. “This innovative solution provides our customers with the reliable ground-fault protection and quick installation they have come to expect from Leviton.”

Lever Edge 15A GFCIs
As with all Leviton GFCIs the company explains, the Lever Edge GFCIs are engineered to meet the UL standard for auto-monitoring or self-testing, periodically conducting an automatic internal test to confirm that protected power is available. If the GFCI detects a problem, one or more of the following will occur:
- Power will be denied with no ability to reset
- Trip with the ability to reset, subject to the next auto-monitoring test cycle or repeated trip
- Visual indicator with red light
The new GFCIs feature a large strap, making installation easier, and work with No. 12 and No. 14-gauge solid and stranded copper wire. The GFCIs can be used for residential and commercial applications.
Lighting Dimmer
The Lever Edge Dimmer the company asserts, delivers reliable dimming performance with all bulb types, including LEDs, and no neutral wire is required for installation. The device features the familiar Leviton user-friendly rocker switch and slide bar, and the company says it offers easy customization options with a setup button to adjust settings such as dimming range, fade on, and kickstart. The new dimmer is single-pole and 3-way circuit capable, making it usable for retrofit older home environments.
Supporting the solution, Leviton points out that color change kits are available for a fast and easy way to change the color of the device by simply removing the existing faceplate and snapping on the new color.
20A Tamper-Resistant Duplex Outlet
The Lever Edge 20A Tamper-Resistant Duplex Outlet responds to the growing demand for 20 Amp outlets in kitchens, garages, basements, and other high-activity locations. Like other Lever Edge devices Leviton adds, the outlet features a large strap for easier installation, as well as lever connectors that work with No.10 and No.12-gauge solid and stranded copper wire.
Leviton also offers Lever Edge devices designed for industrial and commercial settings, including 15-, 20- and 30-Amp straight blade and locking black & white plugs and connectors. For commercial applications, the portfolio includes 15- and 20-Amp commercial grade receptacles and a 15A/20A commercial grade single pole switch.
