Bill Pollock, Dave Keller to Depart Nortek’s Core Brands this Year
Core Brands president Bill Pollock will step down on Dec. 31, with vice president Joe Roberts assuming the leadership role. The Nortek company also announced that Dave Keller will be leaving.
Bill Pollock, president of Nortek’s (Nasdaq: NTK) Core Brands group, has announced his retirement after 27 years of leading Panamax-Furman and then Core Brands. The retirement will be effective December 31, 2014. Pollock also announced that Joe Roberts, Core Brands’ vice president of products and marketing, will be promoted to president upon his departure.
Earlier this year, Nortek spun Core Brands out of a larger security and automation group (“Tech Solutions”) that included mass-market security and home automation. Core Brands (part of the new ‘AV’ reporting division) focuses on the custom installation channel with flagship brands such as Elan, Niles, Panamax, Proficient, SpeakerCraft and Xantech.
The company is coming off a successful showing at CEDIA, where it introduced multiple new product lines to industry acclaim, earning 12 industry awards including the CE Pro BEST Award for Elan g1 home controller.
In announcing his retirement, Pollock says,“After 27 years of service to the custom installation industry, the time has come for me to retire and pass the baton to a new generation of leadership that has dramatically demonstrated its ability to design, engineer and manufacture the innovative and award-winning CI industry system solutions that will delight our customers for many years to come.”
Roberts joined the company last year, replacing Paul Starkey last year as VP products and marketing.
Pollock continues, “When I hired Joe a year ago, it was very much with this day in mind. He is the architect of our new product roadmap, inspiring our engineering and product development teams to create the products we introduced so successfully at CEDIA 2014. Joe will lead the senior management team that will assure our success for many years to come. I could not be more proud of his accomplishments than I am today. I am leaving the helm in very capable hands.”
The company also announced that Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales, will be leaving the company before the end of the year. As it positions itself for profitable growth, the company today eliminated a small number of full-time positions, mostly in areas where system efficiencies have significantly improved in recent months.
