The MKII Series is Magnetar’s latest refresh of its home theater disc players, with the UDP800MKII contrasting its counterpart as being the more accessible option, according to Magnetar.
The 2.0 analog architecture has been redesigned around seven OPA1602 op-amps to improve noise performance and maintain channel separation. Jitter correction for the HDMI output, enhanced EMI shielding and a reinforced chassis all work to reduce mechanical noise and improve read-disc consistency, as well.
Copper-core internal wiring is used to further improve signal integrity and reduce long-term wear.
The UDP800MKII maintains support for UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, SACD and stored or networked media and uses a revised Magnetar video engine to improve upscaling, color handling, contrast management, and noise reduction.
The unit also includes revised USB 3.0 ports with isolated power supplies and dedicated hub controllers to improve playback stability when using external storage.
The UDP800MKII is priced at $1,799.99 and is now shipping through Magnetar and authorized dealers, with introductory Black Friday pricing of $1,599.99.
