Equipment space is always a concern for consumers trying to balance their technology needs and room design concerns. Helping to ease those concerns is Rotel Electronics and its new RAP-1580 Home Theater Surround Amplified Processor.
Rotel says the RAP-1580 is engineered as a solution for homeowners with space concerns for the placement of their electronics.
“It is an ultra-high performance, multichannel integrated amplifier with surround processing that brings music and movies to life in a startlingly vivid way,” says Doug Henderson, U.S. president of the B&W Group. “This is our finest home theater product yet—while it resembles a receiver—it really is in a class all by itself.”
At the heart of the RAP-1580 is its inclusion of the HDMI 2.0a format, and a choice of surround sound processing options that include the object-based Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats.
Rotel explains the RAP-1580's seven channels of amplification produces 100 watts per channel, and Wolfson 24-bit/192kHZ digital-to-analog converters (DACs) for all channels to facilitate the Home Theater Surround Amplified Processor's audio performance.
Elaborating on the RAP-1580's HDMI options, Rotel says the product features eight inputs and two outputs. All of the HDMI connections support 4K Ultra HD video, and both outputs and three of the inputs support HDCP 2.2. Other options include a front-panel iPod USB input with 2.1A charging, and built-in Bluetooth.
In addition, Rotel says a PC-USB input that supports 24-bit/192kHz audio, along with analog connectivity options such as a moving magnet (MM) phono input, a CD input, an XLR (balanced) input, a tuner input, three auxiliary inputs, and a multichannel input.
