Ring, Amazon’s home and small business security brand, has introduced a new lineup of battery-powered and wired video doorbells designed to deliver higher-resolution imaging and more flexible installation options across a range of price points. The expansion includes one 4K model and three new 2K models, along with updated solar accessories intended to support battery-powered deployments.
The releases come amid increasing competition in the video doorbell space, and as new competitors like Apple are rumored to also be considering entering the market. Ring, however, is an established vendor in the custom integration industry and touts advanced features.
About Ring’s new video doorbells
The flagship model, the Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Gen), is the company’s first battery-powered model to feature 4K video capture, offering integrators an advanced battery-powered option for retrofit projects or multi-dwelling projects where power availability is limited. Wiring options do remain for relevant projects, however.
In addition to the flagship device, Ring is launching three new 2K doorbells spanning both battery and wired configurations. These include the Battery Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen), Battery Doorbell (2nd Gen), and Wired Doorbell (2nd Gen). Across the portfolio, features such as motion detection, night vision, real-time mobile alerts, and enhanced zoom functionality are included to support front-door monitoring use cases.
To complement the new hardware, Ring is also introducing updated solar charging accessories designed to extend battery runtime and reduce manual maintenance. The company says the solar products can be mounted directly with compatible doorbells or installed separately to optimize sun exposure, depending on site conditions.
All four doorbells and the accompanying solar accessories are available for pre-order, with pricing ranging from $79.99 for the Wired Doorbell (2nd Gen) to $249.99 for the Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Gen). Solar charging accessories are priced at $49.99 and $59.99.
The rollout also ties into Ring’s subscription-based software platform. The optional Ring AI Pro plan adds features such as keyword-based video search, motion event summaries, extended live view, and up to 180 days of video history retention. These capabilities are intended to streamline how users review footage and manage activity notifications.
