At ISE 2026, madVR Labs is previewing its madVR Envy Commander, a web-based administration and control interface that adds new configuration, monitoring and long-term management options to the madVR Envy family of video processors.

What Is madVR Envy Commander?

Envy Commander is a browser-based control and administration layer for all madVR Envy video processors developed primarily for custom integrators. The interface that can be accessed from desktop, tablet or mobile devices without requiring a dedicated app, and the UI is set up so it can accommodate both first-time installers and seasoned experts.

The goal with creating Commander, according to madVR was to extend the Envy platform beyond reference-grade video performance into providing day-to-day operational clarity. In particular, the company wanted the platform to help visualize how Profiles and Settings interact within Envy processors to make advanced configurations easier to understand.

The platform offers selectable basic and advanced views, while also featuring extensive customization options that allow integrators to tailor workflows to their preferred setup and commissioning processes.

Setup Wizards also provide guided access to essential functions, leaving deeper menus available for advanced configuration tools required on more sophisticated installations.

Integrator Takeaways

Operational burden has been steadily growing on AV systems as the products composing said systems grow more complex over time, and as a result, CE Pro has noticed an increasing number of products and services being offered meant to simplify onsite configuration while offering remote monitoring and diagnostics to reduce the potential need for return visits to fine-tune issues.

While the first helps in cutting down on configuration time, it’s that last issue that can often eat into an integrator’s business by taking away a technician’s time and resources. We’ve seen firms in special circumstances outsource post-install support, but for a large majority of integrators, who are often working on much smaller budgets, such outsourcing isn’t possible.

At the core of Envy Commander is a persistent, real-time, bidirectional connection between the web interface and the Envy hardware, with any changes made within Envy Commander being reflected on the processor itself, and vice versa.

According to madVR, this real-time synchronization eliminates configuration guesswork, reducing the commissioning time while allowing multiple team members to view system status or make coordinated changes simultaneously.

A Software-First Evolution in High-End Video Processing

While madVR Envy Commander is positioned as a control interface, it also signals a broader evolution in high-end AV processing toward software-first ecosystems.

As display and audio technologies continue to evolve, more manufacturers have begun either developing standalone software or baked-in capabilities to products designed specifically around simplifying configuration and troubleshooting in ways that also enable ongoing client care models.

Transparency also becomes big in these installations as well, with the rising interest in Dante for residential applications being largely focused providing transparency into more complex systems, though Dante itself is a networked solution and not software.

More recently, in the display category, manufacturers like Just Video Walls have been leaning towards a software-first platform for configuring their products, which themselves tend to lean into high complexity, however, there are a wide abundance of manufacturers nowadays who offer some flavor of browser-based platforms, remote access tools and unified dashboard all aimed at promoting this experience for integrators.

Availability and What Comes Next

madVR Labs will offer a live technology preview of Envy Commander at ISE 2026, running February 3–6 in Barcelona (stand 2G300).

The Commander platform will be free for all madVR Envy customers and is expected to begin rolling out later in 2026. While the ISE preview offers an early look at the platform’s capabilities, madVR Labs is framing Envy Commander as a foundational component of a broader Envy ecosystem that includes advanced processing, automation integration, professional calibration services and Certified for Envy training.
