iRoom to Present New iPad Docking Station at CEDIA

Basic tabletop iPad docking station completes entry level solutions for smaller budgets, yet is made of high-grade materials glass and aluminum just like the existing in-wall fixDock entry level docks.

It’s been only 4 months since the release of iTop, the tabletop iPad docking station that followed in-wall iBezel with open-source control functionality. Now, iRoom brings the next model to market. The inventor of the iPad in-wall docks has been continuously working on product development to deliver state-of-the-art products for luxury spaces at home and in corporate environments. The new model is a stripped-down version of iTop. Existing iBezel and iRoom target the control market by adding convenience to applications where the iPad is part of the control solution through touch buttons on their glass faceplate that give the user quick access to commonly used functions such as lights, blinds or volume.

New iTop, that debuts at CEDIA, comes without control buttons at a lower price point to match requirements of projects with smaller budgets but is still a high-quality solution made of high-grade materials glass and aluminum. It completes iRoom’s fixDock entry level solutions that have been available only for in-wall installation until now.

fixDock, the cost-effective in-wall product line, is a top seller for projects with limited budgets. Unlike entry level docking stations from other manufacturers, fixDock is made of glass and aluminum.

While fixDock is a permanent docking solution that doesn’t release the iPad, iTop allows the user to take out the iPad and use it as a mobile device. Also, iTop is equipped with an adjustable lightning connector and so accommodates all actual iPad models, even the iPad mini.

As with all existing models, iRoom remains true to its product philosophy to offer convenient and elegant products that blend perfectly into any interior design and match Apple’s iPad design in color, form factor and used materials.  The aluminum base is a milled peace of aluminum, heavy enough to not slide away when the iPad is being operated. iTop is available with black or white faceplate, it stores and charges the iPad and can be powered through PoE+ or standard AC power cord.

Wherever iTop is used at home or in corporate meeting rooms, it’s an eye-catcher and allows for convenient one-handed operation of the iPad.

Upcoming CEDIA Expo will become a milestone in iRoom’s history with not only showcasing the new docking station but also introducing Origin Acoustics as new distribution partner for U.S. and Mexico. iRoom’s CEO Marc Hofer explains: “The new partnership is our next step to grow business in North America. We’ve been preparing the market for the last 3 years by establishing a solid dealer base and by creating overall brand awareness through our Californian sales office with Chris Lehnen. It’s time to move on.”

Chris Lehnen, who already worked with Origin founder Jeremy Burkhardt at Speakercraft and became iRoom’s U.S. president in 2013, joins Origin as regional VP of sales to push sales of iRoom’s products along with Origin’s existing sales force.

Since September 1, all existing iRoom dealers in the above named territory are being served by Origin Acoustics. In addition, iRoom dealers can qualify to sell Origin Acoustics products and add Origin’s speakers to their portfolio. All existing Origin Acoustics dealers will become an authorized iRoom dealer.

Marc Hofer: “Both, Origin and iRoom dealers will benefit from this partnership as it adds top-notch products to their portfolio.”

iRoom’s products will be showcased at CEDIA at the Origin Acoustics booth #5138.
