Hunter Douglas has kicked off the next phase of its Spring 2025 launch with a special focus on design aesthetics being pushed across its smart shading portfolio. With this new phase, the company has announced expansions to its PowerView Automation, an update to its Lightlock solution, and an entirely new product: Pirouette A Deux.

“This phase of our Spring 2025 rollout is all about expanding what is possible, for integrators, installers, and the customers we serve,” said Maren Gehling, Director of Sales Custom Home & Integration at Hunter Douglas.

New Release: Pirouette A Deux

Leading the announcement, Hunter Douglas is introducing an all-new dual-shade solution named Pirouette A Deux designed exclusively for PowerView automation. Consisting of two separate parts, Pirouette A Deux features a light-filtering Pirouette sheer shade set on sheer backing with an independently operated room darkening liner placed behind it.

Both layers are housed in a newly engineered headrail built expressly for this dual-function configuration, making it slightly larger than average.

Engineered as a fully integrated solution, Hunter Douglas says the Pirouette A Deux is aimed at providing light control, privacy and greater ambience for users throughout the day while being able to shift into a strong, room-darkening solution in the evening.

Upon release, the Pirouette A Deux will be available in all light-filtering Pirouette fabrics up to 96-inches wide and 96-inches tall.

PowerView Automation to Include More Unique Shade Shapes

PowerView Automation is also expanding more shade designs within the Alustra Duette and Duette Honeycomb shade collections, as the feature had previously been limited to static configurations, something that Hunter Douglas itself believes to be a little too limiting for the custom integration channel.

Now, the feature will be available on unique architectural shapes such as arches and angles, in addition to existing shades and drapery solutions, allowing them to be integrated into whole-home systems commonly worked on by custom integrators.

Currently, the Arches shape is the most popular Hunter Douglas’ portfolio and supports all light-filtering and room-darkening Duette fabrics, both ¾” and 1¼” pleat sizes. It also includes power options with Internal Rechargeable Battery (IRB) and PowerView Solar Charger compatibility.

Angles, the second most popular shape, are also compatible with the same range of Duette fabrics and power options.

Hunter Douglas is also introducing a new arch trim with the update, as well as new headrail endcap extenders for angles that are designed for color coordination with interiors while also being field trimmable.

Lightlock Flex Updates Room Darkening Solution for Easier Installs

The Spring 2025 launch will also feature an update to Hunter Douglas’ Lightlock room darkening solution for its Duette and Applause Honeycomb Shades.

The updated solution, referred to as Lightlock Flex, features a lower profile build and uses fewer components, leveraging feedback from installers to create what Hunter Douglas is calling a more streamlined setup.

The solution can be ordered as an 84-inch parts kit for on-site trimming and adjustments and is usable in both new and retrofit applications on .75-inch room darkening Duette and Applause shades.

Hunter Douglas has also stated the new solution will be available in six designer finishes, which include White Tiara, Aspen Snow, Aspen White, Rich Cream, Bronze and Black.
