Eve Systems has introduced the Eve Thermostat, expanding its Matter-over-Thread product portfolio with a smart thermostat designed to operate entirely locally without cloud connectivity, subscriptions, or user accounts.

According to the company, Eve Thermostat is built on Thread connectivity and supports Matter, allowing it to integrate with compatible smart home platforms while keeping control and automations within the home. The thermostat supports on-device control, app-based adjustments, schedules, and automations that run locally rather than through a cloud service.

Eve Thermostat features a minimalist design with a large display and touch-based controls for direct temperature adjustments. The interface can be customized through the Eve app, where users can access temperature presets, heating and cooling modes, fan settings, and scheduling options. A trim plate is included to help ensure a clean wall installation, even in retrofit scenarios.

Presence-based automations allow the thermostat to adjust settings when occupants leave or return, and a visual Eco indicator provides feedback when temperature targets fall within energy-efficient ranges. Eve says these features are intended to balance comfort and energy efficiency throughout the day.

“We are proud to introduce a thermostat that not only sets a new standard for comfort and ease of use but also respects user privacy and avoids unnecessary fees,” says Benjamin Wilms, product line leader for home automation at ABB.

The company positions Eve Thermostat as a future-ready platform, with plans to expand functionality through software updates tied to ongoing Matter developments.

Eve Thermostat is scheduled to ship in Q1 2026 with a suggested retail price of $129.95. It will be available through Eve, Apple, and Amazon. The thermostat requires the Eve app on iOS and a compatible home hub, such as Apple TV or HomePod, for automations and remote access. An optional C-wire adapter is available for older HVAC systems that require continuous power.
