Dish Network is known for its benchmark Hopper 3 DVR and home entertainment services. Diversifying from the home entertainment market, the Colo.-based company is now offering consumers an Apple iPhone repair service.

The newly announced Smart Phone Repair service will dispatch authorized technicians to Dish customers' and non-Dish customers' homes or any other preferred location in all 50 states to fix cracked screens and to replace batteries.

Dish says the service is available to iPhone 5 and newer phones. That includes the iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. The service removes all the hassle from fixing broken iOS products for consumers.

“Fixing your phone shouldn't mean losing your phone for days on end, so we come to you—whether you're at the office, the gym or even the coffee shop,” says John Swieringa, executive vice president of operations, Dish Network. “Dish is uniquely positioned with the technical know-how and ability to respond to a customers's needs in every state across the country.”

The service utilizes the best possible third-party replacement parts, and the pricing for the service is commensurate with similiar services. Dish also points out that it offers onsite corporate event opportunities that provide large-scale repairs on enterprise smartphones and employees' personal phones.

“Instead of paying $650 or more to replace a smartphone, our technicians step in to extend the life of the phone when a screen shatters or a battery loses its charge,” Swieringa adds.

Appointments are available seven-days-a-week, including same day and next-day availability, and all of Dish's worked is guaranteed with a 60-day warranty.

To help promote the initiative Dish is offering to customers that reserve the onsite service with a one-time $35 “Drive to Me” travel fee the ability to repair multiple devices during their technician's visit.

To help customers manage their appointments Dish points out that its My Tech appointment tool enables consumers to view technicians' names, photos, and to access a countdown mechanism that pinpoints the technician's arrival.
