It's easy to think of a home theater as a massive investment into audio, video, cabling and installation, but actually investing in home theater is easier now than ever, in part because companies like Denon are bringing the cost of home theater investment to levels that more people can afford.

Denon has announced its latest cost-friendly products, the S series of A/V receivers. The company points out that its new S series products all fall below the $600 price plateau.

Denon has priced its latest products to provide dealers and their clients with a choice of competitively priced products that serve as the basis of a modern home entertainment system.

The S series A/V receivers will be available this April at prices ranging from $279 to $579. Take a closer look below.

Denon AVR-S530BT ($279)

This entry level 5.2 A/V receiver provides 4K with HDR compatibility, Bluetooth streaming options and the ability to deliver up to 140 watts per channel.

Denon says the AVR-S530BT incorporates five HDMI inputs that comply with HDCP 2.2, the BT.2020 wide-color gamut, 4:4:4 Pure Color sub-sampling and the 21:9 aspect ratio.

The receiver's audio functions include HEOS wireless whole-house audio media options, and the ability to play MP3, WMA, FLAC, and MPEG-4/AAC content.

Denon AVR-S730H ($479)

For an additional $200, the AVR-S730H provides two more channels (7.2) and built-in HEOS.

Denon says the AVR-S730H also incorporates the object-based surround sound formats Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and like the AVR-S530BT. The receiver offers compatibility with HDR, plus Dolby Vision, HDR10, Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), BT.2020 wide color gamut, and 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling compatibility.

The HEOS wireless whole-house audio platform provides the ability to stream content from sources such as Pandora, Spotify, TIDAL, Amazon Prime Music, and music stored on NAS drives and local networks.

Denon AVR-S930H ($579)

The most expensive of the three new S series products, the $579 AVR-S930H, builds upon the features of the AVR-S730H. That includes built-in HEOS, object-based surround sound processing from Dolby and DTS, and built-in Wi-Fi with several additional features.

Denon says the AVR-S930H incorporates 185 watts power per channel, video processing with 4K upscaling, eight total HDMI inputs with 4K compatibility and dual HDMI outputs.

All three A/V receivers have an April 2017 release date.
