Denon has introduced the DP-500BT, a semi-automatic belt-drive turntable positioned as a step-down model from the company’s flagship DP-3000NE while incorporating several design and performance elements from that platform.
The turntable is designed to combine traditional analog playback with modern wireless connectivity, targeting both new vinyl listeners and enthusiasts seeking greater flexibility in how records are played throughout the home. The DP-500BT incorporates a static balanced S-shaped tonearm, aluminum die-cast platter and vibration-resistant construction intended to support stable rotation and reduce distortion.
A pre-installed moving-magnet cartridge and built-in switchable phono preamp allow the turntable to integrate with powered speakers, traditional amplifiers or external phono stages. In addition to analog connectivity, Bluetooth transmission enables vinyl playback to be streamed to compatible speakers, soundbars or headphones.
Denon also notes that the DP-500BT can integrate with its HEOS ecosystem when paired with compatible components, enabling analog sources to be distributed across a multiroom audio system. Semi-automatic functionality includes auto-lift and playback stop designed to help protect records during everyday use.
The DP-500BT supports 33â…“, 45 and 78 RPM playback speeds and is positioned by the company as part of its broader effort to address sustained demand for physical music formats while adapting to evolving listening environments.
During a Denon product briefing in New York City earlier this month, Denon representatives positioned the DP-500BT as the company’s highest-performing turntable below the DP-3000NE, emphasizing improvements in signal-to-noise performance and phono stage quality compared to earlier models. Executives also highlighted the product’s role in expanding vinyl use cases, including wireless listening and multiroom distribution via HEOS-enabled components.
Demonstrations showed how analog playback from the turntable can be routed through a HEOS device and then distributed across multiple zones, effectively allowing vinyl to function as a shared source within a whole-home audio system. Product managers noted that the turntable’s Bluetooth capability is intended to support both entry-level users and established hi-fi listeners seeking additional flexibility without compromising core playback performance.
The Denon DP-500BT is scheduled to be available beginning March 17, 2026 through authorized retailers and Denon’s website. Suggested retail pricing is $899.
