Crestron Electronics, a leading provider of commercial- and home-automation systems with revenues over $1 billion, is leasing 56,000 square feet at the new Legacy Tower in Plano, Texas.

The new Dallas-area office will be the company’s largest operation outside of its Rockleigh, N.J., headquarters, and is conveniently located just 15 miles away from competitor AMX, a Harman company.

Crestron expects to employ about 250 to 300 staffers in the Legacy office, mostly in the areas of R&D, customer support, engineering, manufacturing and IT. Move-in day is scheduled for July.

Crestron already has a small operation in the area at the Dallas Experience Center in Flower Mound.
