Christie’s Eclipse G3 is a Luxury Product Through and Through

Far surpassing traditional image standards with a top of the line lighting engine, Christie suggests its latest projector is strong enough to support planetariums, as well as home theaters.

Christie has introduced the Eclipse G3, the third generation of its Eclipse projection platform. According to Christie, the Eclipse G3 is a 6DLP projector that incorporates pure RGB laser illumination. The system is specified to deliver a sequential contrast ratio of up to 20,000,000:1, which Christie says is approximately 100 times the Rec. 2100 standard. Color reproduction is rated at about 98% of the Rec. 2020 color gamut.

The projector is designed for light-controlled environments such as dedicated home theaters, planetariums and themed attractions. It supports native 4K resolution at up to 120Hz in 2D, as well as active 3D at 60Hz per eye. Output is listed at 30,000 ANSI lumens with an expected lifespan of 50,000 hours at full brightness.

In addition to higher brightness and durability compared to previous Eclipse models, the G3 features a redesigned chassis intended to simplify installation, the company says.

The new model will be demonstrated at CEDIA Expo/CIX 2025 in Denver, Sept. 3–6, as part of a $1 million home theater setup in Sound Room 7 (SR7) with Seymour-Screen Excellence.

Christie’s presence at CEDIA Expo extends beyond SR7. In SR10, the company will partner with Alcons Audio to present its CP4425-RGB pure laser cinema projector. That demonstration will include Christie’s Variable Dynamic Range (VDR) technology, which dynamically adjusts laser power to optimize image contrast and black-level detail while reducing power consumption.

Christie LED solutions will also be on display at the ASCENDO booth (#4312). Demonstrations include a 0.75mm-pixel-pitch MicroTiles LED array with 24-bit processing and support for 4K at 120Hz, as well as a 163-inch Core Series III UHD LED video wall with 0.9mm pixel pitch. Additional static displays will feature the M 4K25-RGB, 4K1600-JS Jazz Series, and 4K860-iS Inspire Series projectors.

Christie appears set to capture a larger piece of the home theater market by marketing the Eclipse G3 as a high-end home theater solution. Last year, the company entered an agreement with Luxury Distribution Group to distribute a select range of Christie projectors specifically for home theater systems in the Americas.
