Ahead of CEDIA 2017, CE Pro spoke to Tom Lambrecht, sales manager, North America, Basalte, about what the company has in store for CEDIA attendees in booth #5047.
If you're looking to become a Basalte dealer, email [email protected] or call Lambrecht at +32-9-385-78-38.
What would you say to dealers who are stumbling across your company for the first time?
At Basalte, we combine beautiful, high-quality design with great usability to create unique user experiences for the smart home. Our product range consists of design keypads & minimalist iPad mounts and is currently used by customers, integrators & designers in more than 60 countries.
Originating from our Belgian roots, our products have a refined, high-end design which will wow your customer with something they have never seen before. Apart from the aesthetics, our products also offer plenty of functionalities and an easy integration to help you tailor to your customer’s needs.
At CEDIA, we will have both commercial and technical staff present to answer any question.
What would you say to dealers who are already familiar with your product line?
After the introduction of our touch-sensitive Sentido keypad, we continue to expand our product range for high-end smart homes with a continued focus on great design and usability.
At CEDIA, we will highlight our updated range of minimalist, aluminum mounts for iPad and iPod touch! We are also proud to announce that Apple uses our mounts in their international offices!
Additionally, we will introduce new keypads and sensors to control lighting, shades, HVAC… All of these are the first keypads worldwide that directly integrate with Crestron! They also integrate with Lutron HomeWorks QS over RS485. Our new, flat motion sensor Auro deserves a special mention, since it so neatly integrates in any kind of interior: a subtle solution, highly appreciated by customers and interior designers.
If a dealer/integrator stops by your booth with only 5 minutes to spare, what’s the one product he should examine or one question he should ask?
We would introduce the integrator to Basalte’s key philosophy: developing pure, easy to use solutions for high-end residential projects, where we put focus on user friendliness, innovative functionalities and the use of quality materials such as aluminum, bronze, glass…
Think of your closest competitor (company or product). What is one thing you offer that they don’t? Please be specific.
Since our foundation, we have always focused on how we can add more comfort in the modern home, while also appealing to our customer’s eye for beauty. That’s why we design solutions for the everyday control of your home automation system.
As an integrator, you work with different audiences that each have their own expectations & requirements, next to your personal quality requirements. Our background as a system integrator has helped us develop products that offer all functionalities the integrator would want, while remaining easy to integrate.
Our recent partnership with Crestron perfectly illustrates this thorough integration. We also have in-house interior designers who follow the latest trends, but also know the basic requirements for a high-end interior that every interior designer expects.
These insights have helped us serve thousands of affluent customers in more than 60 countries in the past ten years.
Why are you looking forward to CEDIA coming to San Diego for the first time?
The show takes place in one of the major cities of California, a state well known for its magnificent residential projects and liking for contemporary design. A great area to visit and travel half the world for (since we’re flying in from Belgium)!
