One Firefly’s recruitment division, Amplify People has launched a dedicated job board for the custom integration (CI) industry to connect skilled professionals across the custom integration and home services industries with leading integration firms nationwide.
Why It’s Important for Integrators
The new job board serves as a centralized destination for technicians, project managers, sales professionals, operations leaders and executives seeking opportunities in residential and commercial AV, home automation, security, and related technology fields at a time when labor shortages and hiring challenges continue to impact CI.
A Deeper Look at Amplify People’s Integrator Job Board
Unlike general job boards, Amplify People states that the opportunities featured on its site will come from vetted integration businesses as opposed to a simple “accept all comers” approach.
According to the team, the new platform will allow candidates to:
- Explore open roles across the custom integration and home services industries,
- Submit resumes directly through a streamlined application process,
- Join Amplify People’s candidate network for future opportunities,
- And stay informed about hiring trends and industry insights.
The Evolving Talent Shortage within CI
Recent studies have revealed that, despite technician shortages being the most commonly discussed labor issue in CI, other positions, such as sales, have been proving difficult for integrators to find qualified personnel for, resulting in a premium being paid for the position on business payrolls.
Part of the challenge expressed by integrators is the balance of finding those with the right skillsets and insight into the unique business models that CI occupies.
Other Attempts at a Centralized Industry Hiring Platform Over the Years
While the idea of having a centralized job board for the industry seems salient, attempts at establishing one over the years have been met with mixed results, with CE Pro, as well as its sister site Commercial Integrator, having job boards of their own before being shut down due to a lack of personnel to support such endeavors.
CEDIA had also established its own Career Center back in 2020, however, that site remains nonfunctioning as of writing this article.
Integrator Job Board to Evolve into ‘Central Hub’ for Industry Careers
Beyond job listings, Amplify People has stated the Job Board will continue to evolve as a career resource center for industry professionals, with plans to integrate educational content, hiring insights and professional development resources being in the pipeline for future updates to the site.
“This platform allows us to better support both sides of the hiring equation with focus, efficiency, and industry expertise,” says Samantha Hodz, Director of Talent Acquisition Services at Amplify People.
