Southeast Catalyst AV Distributors Group member AHA Distributing, with locations in Atlanta, Tampa and Charlotte, has acquired Catalyst AV Distributors Group member Electronics Source Distributors. AHA says the deal to aquire the Boynton Beach, Fla.-based CEDIA channel solutions distributor expands its reach into South Florida and the Caribbean markets, as well as gain a wider portfolio of brands that can be delivered same-day/next-day throughout Florida.
Located a few minutes from Interstate-95 at 2037 High Ridge Road in Boynton Beach, Electronics Source Distributors became a part of AHA Distributing on February 1, 2016. Electronics Source inside sales managers Mark Johnson and Paul Lacourse are continuing on with AHA Distributing, and AHA says that it is hosting an open house event on March 29 with 15 exhibiting manufacturers, product giveaways and refreshments. Admission is free.
“We have tremendous respect for what Mike Hench and Electronics Source achieved in Florida and Caribbean and are excited to now make these markets part of the AHA family,” says Chris Gilray, founder and CEO, AHA Distributing. “Dealers will love our special touch of lucrative loyalty rewards programs, frequent newsletters / product updates, aggressive on-site training schedule and of course our CEDIA channel-centric sales and tech support.”
All the lines that Electronics Source offered to its Florida and Caribbean clients remain fully available from the Boynton Beach location. In addition, AHA will offer Boston Acoustics, Definitive Technology, Denon, Ethereal, Just Add Power, Key Digital, Luxul, Middle Atlantic, Origin Acoustics, Parasound, Platinum Tools, Seura, Speco, Transformative Engineering, Vivitek and Wilson Electronics.
Similarly, through the acquisition, Electronics Source’s lines are now available at AHA Tampa. The lines are Onkyo, Screen Innovations, Seura, Total Control, Tivo and URC.
“I’m extremely pleased and excited to see Electronics Source become part of AHA Distributing,” says Mike Hench, founder and president of Electronics Source. “This is a real benefit for all the dealers and will greatly enhance AHA Distributing’s presence in the entire state of Florida and the Caribbean.”
AHA Organizational Changes
As part of the expansion into South Florida, AHA has already made some organizational changes. Chris Gentile, previously general manager of AHA Atlanta, has been promoted to vice president of operations across all four AHA warehouse locations. The company has also appointed Mark Burke as general manager of Tampa. Burke was previously with integration firm Dynamark Systems.
Mike Hench who established Electronics Source to serve the Florida market more than 20 years ago will step down from the Catalyst board, which Electronics Source and AHA Distributing are a part of as member companies of the Catalyst AV Distributors Group. Hench will remain in the custom installation market by focusing his efforts on his sales rep firm L.P. Hench Company, Inc.
