Helping electronics professionals to keep up with the demand for home networks and wired infrastructure, the Newbury Park, Calif.-based tool manufacturer Platinum Tools has just announced its new EZEX-RJ45 Termination System.
During CEDIA 2016 in Dallas on Sept. 15-17 the West Coast tool company will show its latest product in booth number 2123. The EZEX-RJ45 Termination System will ship this fall.
“The EZEX-RJ45 Termination System is the next generation of EZ-RJ45 feed-through connectors designed for larger twisted-pair cables,” says John Phillips, product manager, Platinum Tools. “It features new EZEX-RJ45 feed-through connectors with staggered channels matched with the new EXO professional heavy duty frame and die crimper specifically designed to crimp and flush-trim the protruding conductors in a single operation. This patented new termination system couples two concurrently developed and matched solutions for terminating larger cables.”
The EZEX-RJ45 provides a modular solution to make the termination of larger twisted-pair cables easier because of its staggered feed-through channels that allow for larger diameter conductors that are not compatible with standard modular plugs.
“Current modular connectors for larger diameter cables require multiple pieces that can get lost, are difficult to prep, and are very difficult to verify wiring sequence, which leads to improper terminations and scrap,” notes Phillips. “The EZEX-RJ45 connector and EXO frame and EX die set system minimizes the cost of operation for the installer by eliminating mistakes in crimping and downtime.”
Other features of the system include:
- Compatible with solid and stranded wire.
- Designed for self-centering of each wire in its channel.
- Ambidextrous die sets for left- and right-handed users.
- Platinum Tools includes its EXO Crimp Frame and EXOEX Die Set (part number 100061) that minimizes downtime due to worn out or damaged dies.
