Open Mesh, a manufacturer of cloud-managed network products, has announced its G200 cloud-managed router.
The introduction of the G200 network router completes the company's local network ecosystem, providing integrators with a full array of cloud-managed routers, access points, and switches.
“The G200, when combined with any of our access points and switches, creates a seamless, end-to-end, Open Mesh system that can be easily managed through our CloudTrax platform,” says Ryan Detwiller, general manager, Open Mesh.
“It's a major step forward in achieving our mission of making Wi-Fi easy to install, easy to manage, and because there are not added license fees, [its] extremely affordable.”

Detwiller explains the G200 router is engineered to make it easy for integrators to setup and manage their clients' networks.
He also says that when the router is used with its wireless access points (WAPs), switches and CloudTrax software, integrators can manage their client's networks through a number of features and usage statistics.
Some of the specific features built into the router include NAT routing, DHCP server, VPN client and point-to-point, VLAN tagging, and quality of service (QoS) rules.
In addition, two of the G200's Ethernet ports offer PoE options to power access points and other devices. “This is a tremendous convenience because it greatly simplifies the installation process in small office deployments,” Detwiller notes.
Open Mesh points out these features enable its products and systems to scale up to thousands of locations without onsite controllers or incurring licensing fees while providing clients with gigabit throughput connectivity.
S24 Switch and A62 Access Point
In addition to the G200, Open Mesh also announced the A62 access point and S24 switch.
The A62 is a universal 802.11ac Wave 2 cloud-managed Wi-Fi access point with a single 2.4GHz and two 5GHz radios that employ MU-MIMO transmission technologies.
“With its additional 5GHz radio, the A62 can support up to 150 simultaneously streaming devices, [which is] an increase of 50 percent over the A60 access point it replaces and 30 percent more than the A42 access point,” comments Detwiller.
The S24 cloud-managed switch incorporates 24 Gigabit PoE+ ports and two SFP+ uplink ports to support 10Gbps connectivity between switches.
Additionally, the S24 switch offers a total of 410 watts of power, and each port handles 30 watts, with a total budget of 17 watts per port across all 24 ports simultaneously.
