There are few names in audiophile circles held in higher regard than Dan D'Agostino. When D'Agostino launched the company that bears his name, Dan D'Agostino Master Audio Systems, it quickly grew a loyal following. Building upon an already popular product line, Dan D'Agostino Master Audio Systems has announced its Progression Stereo Amplifier.
This is the second model released as part of the company's Progression Series, and like the Progression Mono Amplifier, the Stereo Amplifier utilizes Dan D'Agostino Master Audio Systems' Super Rail technology.

Throughout D'Agostino's career, a hallmark of his amplifier designs has been power. D'Agostino's latest design features an anodized aluminum chassis that houses a near-3,000 VA power supply that's coupled to 400,000µF (microfarads) of storage capacitance.
The design also features a complementary driver stage and an output stage that employs 48 power transistors.
The amplifier is rated to produce 300 watts into 8 ohms, 600 watts into 4 ohms and 1,200 watts into 2 ohms. Ensuring the amplifier runs cool during challenging musical passages and movie soundtracks, the product employs a venturi-style heatsink design similar to concepts used in the company's more expensive Momentum amplifiers.
According to the company, the Progression Stereo Amplifier uses an almost 49-pound aluminum slab as the basis for its milled heatsinks.
Externally, the amplifier's industrial design draws inspiration from Swiss watches. At the center of D'Agostino's industrial design is a power meter. The power meter features two 90-degree needle swing arms, as well as a high-speed ballistic circuit that enhances the meter's responsiveness.
The Progression Stereo Amplifier will begin shipping in May at a price tag of $22,000.
