VSSL, a new spinoff of speaker manufacturer TruAudio, will introduced “the world’s first multi-channel audio distribution system of its kind” at CEDIA 2016, if you’re to believe the company’s press release.

The new group says it offers the “world’s first (patent-pending) multi-channel audio distribution system with Google Cast, Spotify and Apple Airplay.”

Google Cast, which has its own booth at CEDIA, is that company’s answer to Airplay. The user simply taps the “Cast” button within a music app to stream audio to compatible speakers, no pairing required. Volume controls and music transports are accessible through the app.

Google Cast works over Wi-Fi, so multiple smart devices can share with multiple speakers simultaneously, making it a good fit for multiroom solutions.

VSSL will launch with two models, starting with the 12-channel (6-zone) A.6. Six different people can listen to six different streams in six different zones … simultaneously.

Later this year, VSSL is expected to ship the A.3, supporting three zones.

VSSL’s chief revenue officer Devin Davies says, “There's a new game in town, move over Sonos.”
