WyreStorm will use CEDIA 2017 to launch the latest evolution of its NetworkHD line with the release of the 600 Series 4K HDR over 10GbE.
Expanding on WyreStorm’s goal of being the go-to AV over IP solutions provider with a true multi-platform approach to AV distribution, the 600 Series compliments its low bandwidth HD over 1GB 100/200 Series and low latency 4K HDR over 1Gb 400 Series, by taking up a sizable notch in terms of both audio and video quality.
AptoVision’s BlueRiver NT2000 with Plethora engine provides the firepower behind the 600 Series delivering uncompressed instant seamless switching of true full HDMI 4K UHD @60Hz 4:4:4 with HDR and zero-frame latency over Cat6a up to 100m via off-the-shelf 10Gb Ethernet switchers.
Representing the absolute pinnacle of lossless AV over IP distribution for high-end residential and commercial applications, the 600 Series of course features HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 support, with independent breakaway switching for true matrixing functionality, audio embedding, de-embedding and down-mixing. Full gigabit Ethernet passthrough also enables the daisy-chaining of network-connected devices, such as SmartTVs, Apple TVs and Sonos to offer huge benefits for residential applications.
Full HDMI audio passthrough supports all latest audio formats, including 5.1 downmix, which is ideal for cable TV applications. Broadcast-quality scaling enables the 600 Series to not just mix and match display resolutions but also composite multi-view video and video wall support up to 16×16, including bezel correction for powerful commercial applications requiring the absolute highest possible image quality.
On the launch of the 600 series, WyreStorm NetworkHD and Control Product Manager, James Meredith said:
“There are a number of 4K over IP solutions out there that claim support for 4K HDR at 60Hz 4:4:4 over 1Gb, which might sound great but not when you consider how heavily compressed a signal has to be to fit within that bandwidth. The result will exhibit banding, blockiness and softening of the image as the compression attempts to essentially generalize whole areas of the screen to fit the bandwidth. If video quality is your endgame, you can’t use a 20-to-1 compression 1Gb solution. Only a 10Gb solution will give you a mathematically lossless image and audio that are indistinguishable from an uncompressed source.”
WyreStorm is set to launch the NetworkHD 600 Series in all its uncompressed, uncompromised 4K glory alongside the 100, 200 & 400 Series at CEDIA 2017 in San Diego, with shipping of the 600 Series scheduled for November 2017.
