One of consumer audio's best secrets is the N.C.-based manufacturer Cary Audio. This small American manufacturer has been designing and building some of the industry's best tube and solid-state electronics for almost three decades and its latest product is the SI-300.2d integrated amplifier

Cary says the SI-300.2d delivers a “rich, warm, yet detailed sound” with both analog and digital source components. Rated to produce 300 watts per channel, the SI-300.2d's Class A/B amplifier section is mated to a preamplifier that features a Class A analog preamplifer gain stage that is highlighted by a choice of RCA and XLR analog inputs.

The SI-300.2d's digital capabilities include a choice of an XMOS USB input that supports DSD up to 256 and PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz, two coaxial inputs, an optical input, an AES/EBU input, and wireless aptX Bluetooth options.

The integrated amp's digital section utilizes a topology based off its reference component designs, and it incorporates TruBit Upsampling and OSO reclocking technologies to deliver the highest levels of digital audio performance.

Externally the SI-300.2d integrated amplifier features a center-mounted volume knob, along with a pair of “Cary Blue” volume meters on the right and an LED status window on the left that communicates source information.

Some of integrated amp's installer options include IR, triggers, an IR sensor input, Ethernet and Wi-Fi for the control of the unit via Cary's iOS and Android apps.

Additionally, the SI-300.2d also includes a pre/subwoofer output, as well as coaxial and optical digital outputs.
