Expanding its product line, PerListen Audio has announced its new R Series of loudspeakers.
Building upon its S Series of products, PerListen Audio states the first product within the new series is the R7t floorstanding loudspeaker. The R7t is a four-way, bass reflex/suspension design that is engineered to deliver performance parameters similar to the company’s larger S7t.
PerListen Audio explains the new R Series is the flagship product of the line and it represents the company’s implementation of trickle-down technologies from the S Series of speakers in a smaller, most cost-friendly package.
Included in the R Series is the company’s Directivity Pattern Control (DPC) waveguide that includes a trio of 26mm dome drivers. The company points out the drivers’ silk diaphragms were developed in-house, and the company comments these drivers deliver effortless and smooth midrange and high frequencies.
The R Series speaker also incorporates four of PerListen Audio’s 6.5-inch Hybrid Pulp Formulation (HPF) cone woofers, which use a combination of mixed long-fiber hardwood, bamboo and wool. PerListen Audio emphasizes the woofers can also be aligned as bass reflex or acoustic suspension systems.
PerListen Audio adds the R7t is a THX Certified Ultra left, center, right (LCR) speaker, and it is a THX Certified Dominus speaker when used in surround positions.
