The new Sonos 8-Inch In-Ceiling speaker was developed in conjunction with Sonance, and according to the popular home audio company, the availability of this new speaker extends the dealer options for Sonos architectural loudspeakers.
Sonos says that its latest architectural speaker product offers integrators a new size option, and the speaker provides features such as a custom-built woofer and high-excursion motor that Sonos states enables the speaker to produce a smooth midrange and deep bass that extends down as far as 32Hz.
Aesthetically, the company emphasizes the Sonos 8-Inch In-Ceiling Speakers while bigger than its 6-Inch Speaker features a similar size magnetic grille. The grilles for both speakers are available in a white finish, and Sonos notes the grilles can also be custom painted to further help the speakers blend into a variety of home environments.
The company also points out the development of the new Sonos 8-Inch In-Ceiling Speaker was driven by dealer feedback asking for a larger-size in-ceiling loudspeaker.
Sonos adds that dealers can pair its latest speaker product with the Sonos Amp to design and install whole-house audio, surround sound, and immersive audio systems, and when used in tandem with the Sonos Amp, integrators can fine tune the system’s performance using its proprietary TruePlay room equalization technologies.
