Tony Grimani has built a career in the custom installation market through his leadership in the field of acoustics and the scientific approach he brings to the topic of room design. Back in 2014, Grimani teamed with acoustician Manny LaCarrubba and entrepreneur/audiophile David Steel to launch Grimani Systems loudspeakers.
Originally the three-year-old company introduced its Cinema One line, which provides integrators a selection of 13 loudspeaker products to meet their various dealer home theater requirements.
Now Grimani Systems has announced its new Delta loudspeaker.
A key design element to Grimani Systems' products is its Conic Selection Array (CSA) waveguide, which the company says it developed in order to ensure smooth and even tonal coverage throughout a listening space.
“[The CSA waveguide] ensures that everyone in the room experiences the same superior sound, delivering virtually unlimited power and extraordinary musicality in one integrated architecture,” says the company from a 2014 press statement.
Inside Grimani Systems' Delta Loudspeaker
The Delta speaker builds upon the success of its Alpha and Beta products, according to the company. Designed for smaller rooms ranging from 200-square-feet to 400-square-feet, the Delta speaker employs similar engineering concepts as the company's larger speaker solutions.
Drawing its name from its shape, which is designed to optimize cabinet volume, depth and amplification, the speaker utilizes digital crossover technologies and room equalization options all within its shallow 5.5-inch deep cabinet.
The speaker is designed for concealment behind acoustically transparent screens or stretched fabrics in rooms that feature specific interior design elements.
The front-facing drivers sit in a sealed acoustic suspension MDF enclosure. Grimani Systems points out the Delta features a USB addressable two-way digital active system that include a 1-inch annular diaphragm compression driver and a pair of 6.5-inch woofers.
Internally, the speaker incorporates on-board 28-bit DSPs with switch-mode amplification that includes soft-clip and fault-mode protection. The Delta speaker's amplifcation is rated to deliver 600 watts to each driver, and ships with on-wall mounting hardware.
The speaker is rated to produce a frequency response of 80Hz to 20kHz, and SPL levels as high as 108dB in rooms as large as 3,500 cubic feet.
The MSRP for Grimani Systems' Delta loudspeaker is $6,400.
